Description
This pretty little unheated Montana sapphire is a classic color for Montana sapphires–a medium-light blue-green with a touch of gray tone. The gray tone comes from a very light amount of natural rutile “silk” present in the gemstone, just barely visible in the macro image. The macro image is like the view through a 10x loupe, and also shows one feather inclusion and a cluster of tiny black spinel crystals, or possibly they are larger rutile crystals. In the hand these tiny crystals and the feather are impossible to see unless you use a loupe, so its an eye clean gemstone, and quite bright and lively. Regardless, I’ve factored the inclusions into the price, making this a great value of a gemstone–and a very unique and beautiful one to study for those who love natural gems.
This sapphire has been faceted in my own modified version of the diamond round brilliant cut, one that I’ve specifically optimized for sapphire to produce the desired “hearts and arrows” effect. The result is a scintillating gem, perfect for an engagement ring. It weighs 0.98 carats and measures 5.8 x 3.8 mm.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
