This unique unheated Montana sapphire is striking combination of blue-violet and peach that shifts to a lavender-purple and orange-pink under incandescent light. This is a very unusual combination of colors, and this is the only gem I’ve seen like this out of many thousands I’ve handled over the last few years. The gem has very good clarity, with just a few tiny inclusions that are very difficult to see without a 1ox loupe. The high clarity makes it a very bright and scintillating gemstone in the hand.
This sapphire is faceted in my custom “Topangle” trillion design; the resulting gem is bright and beautiful in the hand. It weighs 1.62 carats and measures 7.1 x 4.6 mm. It would make an amazing center stone for a unique and one-of-a-kind engagement ring or pendant.
