Description
This beautiful heated Montana sapphire is a remarkable combination of a gray-lavender and orange; the gray color shows in daylight and then shifts to lavender under incandescent light. Multicolored sapphires such as this one are referred to as “particolored” in the gem trade. The color was developed by heating the gem in Montana, but no other treatments were made to the gem. The treatment is permanent and stable and not only develops the color, but also improves the clarity. This sapphire has some small visible inclusions, although in person they are not nearly as prominent as the photo would imply. The inclusions have been factored into the price, making this gem a great value for the size.
This sapphire is faceted in our custom “Helena” brilliant oval design, created and optimized for sapphire; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 1.64 carats and measures 7.5 mm x 6.3 mm x 4.7 mm; the perfect size for an engagement ring.
