Description
This gorgeous pink tourmaline is a rich magenta color. The rough gemstone was sourced from the famous Tourmaline Queen Mine in Pala, California- today, gems from this source are very rare and difficult to find, as the mine has been closed for nearly 35 years. Mine owner Ed Swoboda retained a small amount of gem rough from that operating years and this gem was faceted from some of his supply. The gem is 100 percent natural and untreated in any way, and is nearly flawless; there appears to be no visible inclusions, even when examined with a 10x loupe.
This tourmaline is faceted in our modified version of the classic diamond round brilliant design, optimized for tourmaline and cut to hearts-and-arrows precision. The result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. It weighs 1.83 carats and measures 8.0 x 8.0 x 5.3 mm.
