A lovely blue-gray unheated Montana sapphire, 1.89 carats.

Description
This Montana sapphire is a grayish blue color; the gray tones come from a moderate amount of fine rutile silk in the gem. This gem is natural and has not been heated or treated in any way. While the macro image shows a tiny feather tucked off to one side, it is not visible in the hand without a 10x loupe, and doesn’t detract from the appearance of the gem. While I could heat the gem to improve the color and clarity, I am offering it unheated for those who prefer a natural gem and don’t mind the slightly “sleepy” appearance. I have discounted it to factor in the effects of the silk.
This sapphire is faceted in my “Aurora” custom square cushion design that I designed and optimized specifically for Montana sapphire. The resulting gem is bright and lively and would make ideal center stone for an engagement ring. The gem weighs 1.89 carats and measures 6.5 x 4.7 mm.
