Description
This gorgeous pink tourmaline is bright bubblegum pink color. The gem rough this was cut from was sourced from the famous Stewart Mine in Pala, California. The Stewart is famed for its wonderful pink tourmalines; however, they are becoming more difficult to find as the mine has been closed from active mining for several decades, with just occasional small-scale hand mining occurring. This gem was cut from a small parcel of rough I acquired from one the miners who did that work; it was part of his “miners cut” of the finds.
The gem weighs 12.95 carats and measures 15.1 x 9.8 mm. Like most of the pink tourmaline found in southern California it is lightly included. It was faceted for me by miner and gem cutter Phil Osborn, cut in a custom round design. It is very bright and lively in the hand, and the inclusions are far less apparent in person than the macro images make them appear.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
