Description
This remarkable bicolored tourmaline comes from the recent finds in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We work to source this rough directly from the small-scale artisanal miners at this new find, and have selected only some of the largest and finest pieces of tourmaline mined there. This gem was cut from a gorgeous bicolored crystal that transitioned from a reddish pink on one end to a beautiful pastel mint blue-green color. In order to highlight this gorgeous color transition I spent many hours creating and optimizing a new design; and the results were well worth the effort. The gem is extremely clean with just a few tiny crystal inclusions and one tiny feather that are just barely visible to the naked eye.
This tourmaline is faceted in a custom rectangle cushion design named “Aquilone;” the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 15.20 carats and measures 23.4 x 10.5 x 8.1 mm. It would make for an impressive centerpiece pendant or simply appreciated as a collector’s gemstone.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
