This pendant features a beautiful deep pink tourmaline cabochon from the Tourmaline Queen Mine, located on Tourmaline Queen Mountain in Pala, California. The Tourmaline Queen has been closed to any significant mining for over 40 years, with only one minor discovery during a little work a decade ago. It had a storied history as one the most important global mines for pink tourmaline near the turn of the 20th century.
The tourmaline cabochon measures 17 x 14.3 x 8.4 mm and weighs approximately 18 carats. The pendant is a custom lost-wax casting in 2.65g of 18k yellow gold. It features 4 little diamond accents totaling approximately 12 points. This is an all-California creation: The tourmaline was mined and faceted here and the pendant was designed and fashioned in California as well.
