Description
This beautiful unheated sapphire is a gorgeous bright sky blue color–one of my favorite hues found in the Montana gems. While the macro image shows some tiny amounts of rutile silk, it is not visible without a 10x loupe, with the exception of one patch that can be found if you look for it very closely. It is a stunning gem in the hand: bright, scintillating and quite large for a Montana sapphire. The sapphire has one very small inclusion that is quite difficult to see with the naked eye from a normal viewing distance. The inclusion has been factored into the price, making this a great value for the size and color.
This sapphire is faceted in our modified version of the classic diamond round brilliant design, cut to “hearts and arrows” precision. It weighs 2.88 carats and measures 8.3 x 5.6 mm. It would make an amazing center stone for a beautiful engagement ring!
