Description
This unusual heated Montana sapphire is a remarkable combination of bright golden orange and yellow, forming a bicolored gem that is quite striking in person. The sapphire was heated in Montana to develop the color and improve the clarity; the treatment is permanent and stable. There is one internal feather, but it’s not easily seen without a 10x loupe and does not effect the brilliance or durability of the gem in any way. There is also a slight amount of remaining rutile silk that slightly softens the brilliance of the gem, but also gives it a unique “glow.” I have factored the silk and inclusion into the price, making this a good value for the size–Montana sapphires of this size are quite rare, particularly in such an unusual color.
This sapphire is faceted in my custom “Testudo” oval brilliant design that I’ve designed and optimized for sapphire; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 3.26 carats and measures 10.1 x 7.1 x 5.9 mm. It would make an amazing center stone for a unique and one-of-a-kind engagement ring.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
