Description
This gorgeous unheated Montana sapphire is a wonderful shade of pale blue-green, reminiscent of the color of an unheated aquamarine. Like nearly all unheated Montana sapphires, the color will shift with the lighting: Under incandescent light it looks nearly colorless to silver, while under fluorescent light and daylight the color shifts to a pale blue-green to pale blue. The gem is 100 percent natural and untreated in any way. It has very small inclusions that are quite difficult to see with the naked eye from a normal viewing distance.
This sapphire is faceted in our “Helena” brilliant oval design and cut to high precision; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. It is very large for a Montana sapphire: it weighs 3.95 carats and measures 9.6 x 8.1 x 6.4 mm. Only a handful of sapphires are found in Montana each year that are large enough and clean enough to facet a gem of this size–making it a true collector’s item.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
