Terms of Sale

The terms of sale vary by the item.

Gemstones: Loose gemstones have a 10 business-day (two weeks including weekends) inspection and return period, starting from the day you receive your gem.  If you are not satisfied with the gemstone for any reason, please contact us to arrange a return and full refund (again, minus any shipping fees).  Damaged or broken stones may not be returned.  Stones that have been set will require inspection before return, and if damaged in the setting process needs repair, we may choose to refuse the refund or repair the and deduct those costs as well as any subsequent reduced value from the refund. If you contact us to return a gemstone outside of this timeframe, we may choose to accept a return at our discretion, and only if the gem is completely identical to when it was shipped.

Jewelry:  Ready-to-ship (“stock”) jewelry items can be returned for a 100% refund, minus any shipping charges, within 7 days of receipt.  They must be in the original packaging and unaltered in any way.  If an item is missing packaging or needs repair, we may choose to refuse the refund or repair/replace components and deduct those costs from the refund.  All returns must be authorized by contacting us during the return period; we will provide return shipping instructions. Once the returned item has been received, as long as it meets the conditions of return, your refund will be issued within 7 days of our receipt of  the return.  If not, we will contact you to discuss any repair/restocking fees before taking any further action.

Custom and made-to-order jewelry is non-returnable; however, we can offer a 50% trade-in for any piece of equal or greater value, with some limitations (the gem and jewelry cannot be damaged in any way; in those cases we will assess the jewelry and provide a trade-in value).

Jewelry Resizing:  All rings must be resized by us to preserve the lifetime guarantee.  The cost for resizing is $150 including the shipping and insurance costs; this is limited to no more than one size up or down.  Greater than one size may not be possible with all designs and may incur an additional fee.

Warranty/Guarantee

Standard stocked pieces of jewelry have a lifetime guarantee against any manufacturing defect.  If you believe your jewelry item has experienced a failure related to a defect, please contact us to arrange a return and evaluation.  We do not guarantee against damage due to normal wear and tear.  For example, if you catch a prong on a ring and break it off, this is not a warranty repair and will most likely require a small repair fee.  If a repair is not covered under warranty we will contact you for authorization before proceeding with any repairs.

Gemstones are not guaranteed except for accuracy of representation.  All gemstones guaranteed to be what they have been represented as–for example, unheated or untreated.  If at any time a gemstone is found to not meet the stated condition, please contact me and be prepared to provide testing results from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the  American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), Lotus Gemology, SSEF or Gübelin to validate any claims.  We cannot guarantee against wear and tear–for example, a gemstone can be cracked when being set if care is not taken, facets can abrade from rough wear, etc.

Accepted Payments

We accept online payment in the form of credit cards from VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  We also offer financing through Affirm.  You may also contact us to arrange payment via bank wire or check.  Please note that returns that are paid with Affirm are subject to a 6% restocking fee.

Shipping

All items typically ship within 24 hours of the order being placed with the exception of orders placed on the weekends (Friday through Sunday) or United States federal holidays, which ship on the next business day (Monday).  If there is a delay longer than 48 hours for shipping you will be informed.  All items are shipped using the United States Postal Service via Priority Mail, FedEx or UPS and are fully insured; if the item is greater than $2000 in value we may choose to automatically upgrade your shipping to FedEx at no additional cost to you.  You will receive a tracking number that will allow you to follow the progress of your shipment.  Typical delivery times in the United States are 1-3 days; international delivery will vary by country. All orders greater than $1000 in value will require a signature for delivery. We will only ship to an address verified by your credit card company.  If you wish to arrange an alternative shipping method, please contact us to make those arrangements.  Additional costs may be incurred.

Taxes and Duties

Depending on the legislation where you live, your purchase may be subject to taxes and/or duties.  You are responsible for these, and if a package is returned because you do not pay the taxes and/or duties you will be responsible for any fees we incur, including the return shipping fees.  We also reserve the right to assess a 30% restocking fee in these situations.
