Description
This gorgeous heated Madagascar sapphire is a luscious royal blue color–one of the most desirable hues for a sapphire. There is a very slight zoning to the color, so that when you rotate it in your hand you’ll see some lighter blue flash amongst the broader deep blue body color. In recent decades Madagascar has become famed for its finds of many gemstones, but in particular some of the most beautiful rich blue sapphires found in the last 100 years. Â This is an excellent example of some of the finest blue sapphires produced from Madagascar. Â This sapphire has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There may be tiny inclusions that are visible only with a 10x loupe. It has been heated to improve both the color and clarity. Â It comes with a Gemological Institute of America report indicating that it has been heated and with their opinion that the origin is Madagascar; the report number is 6217926776.
The sapphire was originally cut in Sri Lanka but has been recut in the United States to improve the brilliance; it is faceted in a classic square cushion design. The sapphire weighs 2.96 carats and measures 6.7 x 6.7 x 3.6 mm.  It would make the perfect gem for a unique engagement ring.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
