Description
This heated Ethiopian sapphire is a luscious rich blue color–one of the most desirable hues for a sapphire. It shows indications of heat treatment; heat treatment is permanent and stable and not only develops the color, but also improves the clarity. In 2017 a new sapphire deposit was found in Ethiopia. Mostly mined by small-scale artisanal miners, only a small volume of these sapphires have made it to market; this is the first we have been able to obtain. This sapphire has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There is one tiny inclusion near the edge, but it is almost impossible to see without a 10x loupe.
The sapphire has been recut in the United States to improve the brilliance; it is faceted in a mixed Portuguese round design and cut to high precision. It weighs 1.76 carats and measures 6.7 x 5.1 mm.
This sapphire also has a GIA sapphire origin report included; the report number is 2213926737; a photo of the report is attached.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
