Description
This beautiful Montana sapphire is a wonderful steely blue-green color in daylight and under fluorescent light. Under incandescent light, however, it changes to a beautiful steely lavender purple. The effect is very difficult to photograph, so it has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The gem has outstanding natural clarity, with no visible silk and just one tiny veil tucked off near an edge, where it’s almost impossible to see without a loupe. The high clarity makes this gem very bright and scintillating in the hand.
This sapphire is faceted in my custom oval brilliant design I created just for Montana sapphire. The design is called “Helena” in honor of the capital of Montana, located near the sapphire mines on the Missouri River in Montana. The gem weighs 2.07 carats and measures 7.8 x 6.7 x 5.1 mm.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
