Description
This gorgeous bright orange spessartite garnet is quite clean for this gem variety and locality–there’s a very light amount of bubble inclusions called “sugar” in the trade. The macro image makes them look worse than they do in the hand as face up they are very difficult to see without a loupe. The rough comes from Loliondo, Tanzania which is known for its fine spessartine garnet. This garnet has been faceted in a custom trillion design and the resulting gem is very bright in the hand, like a little fireball of orange. It weighs 2.37 carats and measures 8.5 x 5.2 mm.
