Description
This beautiful unheated sapphire is a gorgeous steely blue color in daylight and most fluorescent light, but it’s also a rare color-change sapphire–under indoor incandescent lighting, the color shifts to uniform lavender violet hue. The color change isn’t very strong, but it’s hard to photograph and it has to be seen in person to be appreciated. The gem has excellent clarity, with only a tiny amount of natural rutile silk present and one or two tiny inclusions only visible with a 10x loupe. The high clarity gives the gem excellent brilliance–this is really a remarkable natural sapphire!
This sapphire is faceted in the classic diamond round brilliant design, optimized for sapphire and cut to “hearts and arrows” precision. It weighs 1.93 carats and measures 7.5 x 4.7 mm. It would make an amazing center stone for a beautiful engagement ring!

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
