Description
This unheated Ceylon sapphire is a gorgeous violet-sky blue, one of the finest shades of blue found in sapphires. The gem is 100% natural and untreated in any way. It was upcycled from a vintage piece of jewelry, and based on gemological evidence, we believe it is from Sri Lanka. It has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. This sapphire has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There may be tiny inclusions that are visible only with a 10x loupe.
The sapphire has been recut in the United States to improve the brilliance; it is faceted in a classic round brilliant design and cut to high precision. It weighs 1.09 carats and measures 6.3 x 4.5 mm.
