This beautiful all-natural Montana sapphire is a unique color I have only seen from the El Dorado Bar deposits and nowhere else in Montana–a pale but bright yellow-green color, reminiscent of the color of a fluorescent highlighter marker. The color shifts with the lighting, looking pure yellow under incandescent lighting and more greenish-yellow in daylight and some fluorescent light. The gem has two tiny inclusions, but they are not visible without a loupe–its eye clean and extremely bright and flashy in the hand.
I faceted this sapphire in my modified round brilliant design that I’ve optimized for sapphire and the brilliance is outstanding. The gem weighs 1.42 carats and measures 6.3 x 4.5 mm. It would make a perfect center stone for a one-of-a-kind engagement ring.
