The photos simply can’t do justice to this gorgeous all-natural Montana sapphire. The color is a gorgeous sky blue that shifts color depending on the lighting, appearing more robin’s egg blue in daylight. The macros photos show some minor silk–proof its not been heated–and a few small black hercynite crystals, but none of this is visible in the hand and would require a loupe to be visible. I faceted this sapphire in my modified round brilliant design that I’ve optimized for sapphire–and its incredibly brilliant. The gem is the perfect size for an engagement ring at 1.44 carats and 6.35 x 4.48 mm.
