Description
This Oregon sunstone is a gorgeous deep orange color, shading to a red orange. The color is reminiscent of a dark orange spessartite garnet and is brighter than the photo implies. I faceted it from rough I sourced directly from the owner of the new Misha 2 Mine in Oregon–a good friend of mine. I cut it in my own modified version of the classic round brilliant cut; I spent a significant amount of time optimizing the angles of this design for a variety of gem material as the original angles were intended for diamond. The gem weighs 1.72 carats and measures a calibrated 7.50 x 5.50 mm. There is a tiny splash of very fine schiller that that is visible in just the right light or with a loupe–proof positive of the natural origin of this American gemstone.

Video Request
Although we do our best to take the highest quality images, sometimes it can be difficult to envision how it will look on your hand. We can take a video of up to four gems side by on the hand to help you compare them and see how they perform in daylight. Please provide the following information, and include the SKU numbers or links to the stones you would like to see a video of.
Please note that we don’t do 360-degree videos as colored gems are optimized to be viewed face up, and because the current technology is such that none of the 360-degree systems we have tested provides the accurate color. Our desire is to present the most honest and accurate color possible!
