Description
This heated ruby is a gorgeous pinkish red. It shows indications of heat treatment; heat treatment is permanent and stable and not only develops the color, but also improves the clarity. This ruby was acquired directly from a reputable gem dealer; it is represented as being from Madagascar. It has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There may be tiny inclusions that are visible only with a 10x loupe.
The ruby was faceted outside the United States in a classic oval design. It weighs 2.21 carats and measures 9.4 x 6.8 x 3.8 mm.
This ruby also has a GIA gemological report included; the report number is 2233892076; a photo of the report is attached.
