Description
This heated Montana sapphire is a highly unusual rich reddish magenta pink with hints of purple. The gem is 100 percent natural and untreated in any way. This sapphire has excellent clarity, making it bright and scintillating in the hand. There may be tiny inclusions that are visible only with a 10x loupe. There is also a moderate haze to the gem from undissolved rutile silk that gives the gem a soft glow.
This sapphire was personally faceted in the United States by Jeffrey Hapeman in our “Serendipity” brilliant oval design and cut to high precision; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 3.06 carats and measures 9.4 x 7.6 x 5.8 mm.
This sapphire comes with a special GIA “Sapphire Origin and Traceability” report that records the gem first as the rough uncut stone direct from the mine, and then as the finished cut gemstone. The report number is 2231574474 and can be verified on the GIA website; see attached image of the report in the image gallery.
