Description
This unheated Madagascar sapphire is a classic shade of medium< blue with violet tones, one of the more desirable colors for sapphire. The gem is 100% natural and untreated in any way. This sapphire was acquired directly from a reputable gem dealer, and based on gemological evidence, we believe it is from Madagascar. This gem has very small inclusions that are quite difficult to see with the unaided eye from a normal viewing distance. The inclusions have been factored into the price, making this a great value for the size and color. The sapphire has been recut in the United States to improve the brilliance; it is faceted in a concave faceted oval design by award-winning artist Derek Katzenbach. It weighs 3.10 carats and measures 9.4 x 7.5 x 5.9 mm. This sapphire also has a GIA sapphire origin report included; the report number is 6237458053; a photo of the report is attached.
