The “Holly” Cluster Ring with 2.02-Carat Color-Change Pastel Pyrope Garnet

The “Holly” is a classic cluster ring. Dainty clusters of diamonds bring to mind both summer leaves and winter snowflakes. This ring comes complete with a 2.02-carat garnet. This style features a four-prong basket setting adorned with clusters of round and marquise-shaped diamonds atop a 2.0mm-wide band. Each ring includes six 3.0 x 1.5 mm marquise diamonds as well as six tiny round diamonds, all with G+ color and VS clarity, weighing an average approximate total of 0.26 carats.

This garnet comes from a small lot of old rough that came out of Tanzania in late 2013. There was a very limited supply of this rough and we were lucky to acquire a parcel. It has been identified as a rare form of pyrope garnet called “pastel pyrope”. This gem is a pink-toned magenta purple under daylight, while under incandescent light, the color changes to a hot pink. The gem is 100 percent natural and untreated in any way. It was cut from rough sourced from Morogoro, Tanzania. It has extremely small inclusions that are quite difficult to see with the unaided eye from a normal viewing distance. The inclusions have been factored into the price, making this a great value for the size and color. This garnet was faceted in the United States in our “Testudo” brilliant oval design and cut to high precision; the result is a glittering beauty of a gemstone. The gem weighs 2.02 carats and measures 8.4 x 6.3 x 5.3  mm.

This “Holly” ring is made from 14K yellow gold and while it is currently US size 7, it can be resized from approximately size 5 to size 9. Please allow approximately one week for shipping if resizing is required.
